Black Poison Caramel Apple
A sweet treat to complement your Poison Apple Martini
- 2 tbsp dark corn syrup
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tbsp dark chocolate cocoa powder
- 2-3 cups dark candy (crushed oreos, black sprinkles)
- 1 skewer stick
Mix the corn syrup, water, and sugar in a saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a boil. Allow mixture to bubble for approx. 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to overheat.
Add heavy cream, vanilla, and salt to saucepan. Mix well.
Add cocoa powder and food coloring to pan. Dip your apples in the mixture using a skewer stick. Allow excess to drip back into pan for 10-15 seconds. Roll apple in black sprinkles or crushed Oreos.
Place coated apples on a cookie sheet with wax paper. Chill in refrigerator one hour prior to serving. Can be made up to a day in advance.
